Overview:
Kathe and her teenage daughter were moving into a new home. The previous owners had been living there while their marriage failed, ending in a bitter divorce. Because the house had been the site of so much emotional pain and turmoil, I was called in to help clean any negative energy that was left behind after they moved out.
I was amazed at how quickly Doug picked up on the
energy of the house and what needed to be done to change it. He felt an overwhelming sense of neglect,
anger, and sadness in many rooms of the house. Through dialog and energy forces, Doug did his work. The whole atmosphere shifted that day. From that point forward, I felt like my
efforts in making the new house into our home were working.
Clearing:
Surprisingly, the predominant energetic tone in the house was one of neglect. As their marriage deteriorated, the couple stopped taking care of the physical structure. In addition to actual trash and debris, there was a strong energetic residue of lethargy and a deep lack of care for the house.
When we moved into our new home, it seemed clean and ready to go on
the surface. What we quickly found
was that the house mirrored what was apparently going on in the marriage.
Anything that was readily seen was clean and ready to go. Ledges, cupboards, and crawl spaces
were neglected at best, filthy with years of dried makeup, chile oils, and wads
of long black hair at the worst.
Things that would only take a minute to fix right were rigged to barely
hold together for appearances but not for proper functioning.
This energetic state proved to be very easy to clear. The antidote to neglect is attention and care; Kathe and her daughter had plenty of that. Once they started talking about their plans for various rooms, changes, etc., the feeling of neglect was quickly replaced with excitement and energy. My role here was to confirm and acknowledge the air of neglect (Kathe in particular felt this strongly) and then shift the energy by asking about their plans. The two of them did the rest.
Three rooms needed a little extra attention. Evidently, the wife had been quite vain and had used the guest bathroom as a place to indulge those tendencies. So, it was a little creepy in the guest bathroom. KatheÕs daughter had done hours of cleaning, which had helped. However, I did need to spend some time there to help clean it on a deeper, energetic level. This womanÕs energy was deeply entrenched and did not clear easily, but it did shift in the end.
The office or study was situated prominently and felt very sad. All three of us could feel the despair and grief clearly. This room proved to be an easy fix. Kathe and her daughter had big plans for the room which included computers, games, entertainment with friends, etc. In less than five minutes, the feeling of the room had completely changed. It felt light and easy.
The last challenge was the Òmaster bedroom.Ó This room had seen a lot of loneliness. The room felt strained under the burden of this sense of isolation and separation. Kathe and I were able to begin the process of shifting the energy in this room. The loneliness had been going on at such a deep level and for so many years, that it just wasnÕt going to shift in one day. Kathe and I also agreed that the long-term solution was for her to fully move in and to infuse this room with her own style, spirit, and energy. I spoke to her a few weeks later and she had found the key to letting the negative energy completely go and to claiming that room as her own. She did a terrific job and I got the sense that she was finally peaceful and at home in the mistress bedroom.
Now it is several months later and I still
feel very good about the work that Doug did. I would like Doug to come back when the painting and
decorating are complete just to do a "check-up" to make sure there
are no lingering energies from the former owners.
Ownership:
This concept is about taking energetic possession of a room or a home; by putting your unique energy in it, you can make it your own on a much deeper level. Kathe and her daughter were naturals at this; once they started there was no stopping them. This house had a large unfinished basement that was going to be remodeled into the daughterÕs bedroom. If you ever want a perfect example of a human claiming a space, you should see a female teenager planning her private domain. This young lady knew her mind, down to the colors and the size of the closet. Wow! When she was done articulating her vision, there was nothing left for me to do in the basement. Every scrap of earlier energy had been swept aside by a flood of teenage enthusiasm. It was terrific!
Kathe understood this concept on a deeper level. She emailed me after a marathon kitchen cleaning and organizing session.
When
I was all done, I stepped back to admire my work and saw a huge wad
of long black hair (belonging to the wife / former owner)
attached to the chain on the overhead hanging lamp. Perhaps she does not yet
know that she has met her match!
Kathe
was not about to share the energetic ownership of HER home with the former owner or with anybody
else. [Her daughter has a
temporary permit, but it is KatheÕs house.] Kathe understands that this will take a lot of work over
time, but she is completely comfortable with that. With great clarity and with quiet determination, Kathe is
transforming her new house into her home.
It was a great treat for me to be invited in to help her begin this
mysterious, alchemical process.
I would highly recommend
Doug for a clearing of a new home or office. I had never done one before and Doug's demeanor and
professionalism put us at ease right away.
